All yoga teacher trainings are different! You will learn things here that were not mentioned, or maybe even taught differently, in your previous training. Knowledge is key, and continuing education is a must for yoga teachers.
We do offer a steep discount for current yoga teachers (with proof of completed 200 hour training).
Keep in mind Yoga Alliance has only 200, 300, and 500 hour designations. Completing multiple 200hr trainings does not add up or count towards a higher designation. This is because each designation requires a minimum amount of hours in each category, to ensure specific benchmarks are met.

This course meets on 7 weekends, over the span of 2-3 months.
A Typical schedule will consist of one full weekend, where you will be at the studio on Saturday and Sunday, from about 8-5pm (with breaks), and one or two weekends where we will meet on Sunday only.
Schedule is subject to change, and if the majority of the cohort agrees, we can also make alterations (holiday schedules, etc.)
Homework assignments are not too time consuming, and are "graded" based off of in-class participation and understanding, not completion.
This training is designed to work around a regular lifestyle - if you are worried about something please let us know!
-
Missed sessions can be made up for by extra assisting hours or by attending a make up session day.
This training is also approved by Yoga Alliance to be offered in a hybrid or purely online style. If you are out of town we can have you on zoom, or we can record the session for you to watch later.

Many people take a teacher training with zero intentions of actually teaching!
This yoga teacher training course is designed to enhance a personal practice and dive into the study of yoga. By doing this, we will craft the tools of how to share yoga with others - sharing yoga is not always done by teaching classes.
However, this course is also designed to develop teaching skills, so there will be practice teaching that takes place - regardless if you plan on teaching or not. You may always opt out of the practice teaching sections and be the student in these roleplay practices.

Yoga Shala Everett is always looking to expand the community!
Depending on participation throughout the training, how your feedback classes go, what classes you are ready to teach, and what is available at the shala, we may be able to offer a class or to be on a sub list. There are no promises made, but we are here to help you grow as a teacher.
We would love to have you continue practicing at the shala after the training, and you are welcome to arrange times to continue assisting in classes to keep learning!
-
Teacher training cohorts are capped to make sure that each person is seen and given the attention and feedback they deserve and paid for.

We have no set-in-stone prerequisites. Everyone comes in at a different part of their life. We should not be gatekeeping yoga. If you are ready and willing to learn with an open mind, you will benefit from this training.

This training turns theory into practice. We put emphasis on hands-on experience.
We aren't teaching cookie-cutter cues. You will learn how to individualize each student in a class, and teach to them personally in a group class setting.
Yoga is an endless practice, meant for a lifetime. We recognize that yoga will look differently throughout parts of life, and this training respects that. It is the experience, not the aesthetic.
