Beginning Your Ashtanga Practice

This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect way to start your yoga practice. Whether you're brand new to yoga or just curious about the Ashtanga method, we’ll guide you through the basics in a warm, welcoming space.

This package includes a workshop that will cover the foundations of ashtanga yoga, and introductory Mysore session, and one month unlimited practice to continue building your practice.

Ashtanga Foundations:

This workshop has no prerequisites and is structured to present key elements of Ashtanga Yoga in an accessible manner to build confidence as you begin your practice. 

Designed specifically for beginners! This two hour workshop will focus on establishing good alignment and safe techniques that we see in Sun Salutations and the Standing Sequence of Ashtanga Yoga. These postures build strength and flexibility that is carried forward through the practice. 

Your First Mysore Class!

Mysore-style classes are traditional self-led practices of the Ashtanga series. Students move through practice independently, at their own pace and breath rhythm, through the sequence of postures that they have learned from their teacher. The teacher is there to help you learn the sequence, refine postures, offer modifications, provide assists, and empower you to feel confident in your practice. 

In Mysore class you will practice the sequence you learned at the Ashtanga Foundations workshop. As time goes on you will learn new postures and add them into your daily practice.

Per Shala tradition, on Sundays after Mysore class, we finish practice and head over to a local café to spend time with the community. Always an open invite!

One Month Unlimited Practice

For the next 30 days, keep practicing what you learned! Come in to the studio and practice as often as you are able to, setting the foundation for a lifelong yoga practice.
